The dot works. Until it looks like his.
A Sharpie gets the job done. Thatâs why everyone in your group uses one. The trouble starts when your buddy plays the same ball.
- Two of the same ball, ten feet apart, with two dots that look exactly alike.
- You redraw them at the turn, and theyâre fading again before you finish.
- Pick the wrong one and itâs a penalty, or at least an argument.
Your marker isnât the problem. A dot is just too small and too common to tell two balls apart.
Watch the rub test: the marker dot smears, the stamp stays put.
One roll puts a full picture on the ball
Think of a rubber stamp on an envelope, except you roll it across the curve of the ball, so the whole design lands in one pass.

What the group says on the first tee
âIsnât that sick?â The reaction you get when your buddy sees your ball.
âTwo guys in my group play the same ball I do. First Saturday with the stamp, nobody hit the wrong one.â
Weekend golfer
âI stamped them the night before. They went through the washer on 10 and the design was still there on 18.â
Weekend golfer
âTook me two practice balls to get the roll right. After that itâs a few seconds a ball.â
Weekend golfer
âBought one for every guy in my foursome. Now we argue about whose design is better instead of whose ball it is.â

A full dozen, stamped in minutes
Open a new box and roll through every ball at the kitchen table. Stamp them the night before so the ink has time to set before your round.
Put it through the ball washer
A golfer asked for a real test, so the stamped ball went into the course washer and got pumped. It came out with the design still on it. Like any mark it wears with hard use, and a fresh stamp takes seconds.
Pick the design that sounds like you
The âMerica mustache, Birdie Juice, or something your group will rib you about. You choose it, so itâs the one you recognize the second you walk up.
Built around what goes wrong with stamps
A mark you can actually read
About 16mm across. The top complaint about ball stamps is a print too small to make out, so this one is a full picture.
Quick-dry ink
Give it a few seconds and a thumb rub wonât smear it, where a fresh marker dot does.
Self-inking, nothing to refill by hand
If prints start looking faint, cap it and stand it upright so the ink settles back into the face.
Mistakes come right off
Smudged one? Wipe it with rubbing alcohol before it dries and stamp again.
Lives in your golf bag
Compact enough for the ball pocket, next to your tees and glove.
Dots, other stamps, and this one
| On the course | RollMark Ball Stamp | Other ball stamps | Sharpie dots |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tells your ball from a buddyâs on the same ball | A full picture you picked | If you can read it | Every dot looks alike |
| Readable when you walk up | About 16mm across | Often small and faint | A dot or a line |
| Still there late in the round | Quick-dry, washer tested | Mixed reviews | Redrawn at the turn |
| Effort per ball | One roll | One press | Dots on both sides, again mid-round |
| Fun to show the group | Thatâs the point | Depends on the design | Itâs a dot |
| Cost | $9.99 once | Varies by brand | A few dollars, plus redrawing |

Questions golfers ask before buying
Will it wear off during a round?
It holds up to normal play and a course ball washer, as the test above shows. Like any ink mark it wears with heavy use, so stamp the night before to let it set, and restamp in a few seconds when it fades.
Is the print big enough to read?
The design is about 16mm across, a full picture rather than a dot, so you can pick it out as you walk up to your ball.
Is it hard to get a clean print?
Practice once or twice on an old ball. Set it on the ball, tilt, roll it across in one motion, and lift. If a print comes out partial, press a little harder. If it smudges, use less pressure and donât drag it.
What if I mess one up?
Wipe it with a cloth and a little rubbing alcohol before the ink dries, let the ball dry, and stamp again.
Does the ink run out?
Itâs self-inking. If prints start looking faint, put the cap back on and stand it upright so the ink settles back into the face. If thereâs too much ink, dab the face on a paper towel.
Will it get ink on my clubs?
Let it dry first. If you catch the stamp flush with your club face, a little ink can transfer, and it comes off the next time you clean your clubs.
Does it work on yellow balls and any brand?
Yes. It stamps white and yellow balls, and because it prints on the cover, the brand you play doesnât matter.
Is a stamped ball legal to play?
Yes. The Rules of Golf encourage every player to put an identification mark on their ball, and a stamp does exactly that.
When will it arrive?
Orders are processed in 1 to 2 days, then delivery takes 5 to 10 days.
What if I donât like it?
You have 90 days from your order to ask for a refund.
